Let me just say that I know that most big time college football players get money and other perks. That is just the way it is and Reggie Bush was no different. Maybe he and his family were just a bit greedier than most. But anyone who thinks their favorite team or coach runs a “clean program” is kidding themselves. Sure the coaches are not giving out c notes at practice. They do not have to. Boosters take care of that on their own. And frankly the best players deserve to get perks. That is reality in the real world…. people who are very good at something get rewarded. It may be against the NCAA’s rules but it is reality.
The part that makes Bush a bad guy is when he had the chance to save his University from any problems. He took money from a sports marketing guy in return for his promise to sign with the guy. Well when he did not sign, of course the marketing guy wanted his money back. Reggie did not comply so the guy seeks out a writer from Yahoo Sports to tell all. That is what started the snowball rolling.
Bush was a dirty player on the take, which I could care less about. The fact that he hung his school out to dry makes him a bad guy not to mention the fact that he basically stole money from the marketing guy. He was one of the most exciting college players I have ever seen. Unfortunately for USC he trashed their future for the next few years. I though he might get his payback by ending up married to Kim Kardashian but he escaped that punishment also.
