Regarding the 1953 Commerce Jefferson game in the rain: I was the starting right tackle on that team and was the starting right tackle on every game of the 1953 team. The Jefferson game and the South Habersham (Cornelia) game were two tough games. Both opponets were favored to win.

As was mentioned in another tale regarding the Tight T and Split T formation of Coach Andy Anderson: Coach Anderson abandoned the Split T and Used the tight T formation for the South habersham Game in 1953. It resulted in a 21-20 win for the Tigers. We used plays 43 Right for Richard Crocker and 43 Left for Paul Brown and used Bobby Dorsey Up the Middle for the Victory.

The 1953 starting line in 1953 offensive and defensive line was: LE: Fred Turpin, Lt: Willie Wilson,LG Norman (Hoss Allgood), Center/Linebacker Ralph Niesler, RG: Mitchell(Ape) Adams, Rt: Harold Tarpley, RE: Daniel(Snake)Ford.
